inspiration
In Trinidad, every day around 5pm my cats would cue "it's time to go outside". We'd stay until the sun was gone.
One of those evenings, the setting sun and those clouds close to it were painted in red orange. Everything in its path glowed with a golden warmth.
The Kiskadees and blackbirds were back and forth wrapping up their day, while the bats were starting theirs. The rhythm of the various melodies at this magic hour planted this seed; Saam Saam.

Immerse Yourself in the Soundscape: Saam Saam

Composer and producer J9 is proud to announce the release of her latest single, Saam Saam, a captivating and boundary-free musical experience.
Released on the new moon, a time for planting seeds and setting intentions, Saam Saam marks the beginning of a collection of stunning pieces crafted over the past few years.
Saam Saam was born from a moment of stillness and connection with nature. Inspired by the red-orange Caribbean sunsets, where everything underneath it’s light has a warm glow. The piece captures that fleeting magic hour in sound. It showcases J9’s ability to weave emotion, color, texture and sound into one seamless journey.
"Composed for the listener to have their own experience in this soundscape, the lyrics are asemic—vowels flowing with no particular meaning," says J9. While the soundscape provides an auditory space, it’s an invitation to interpret the music in your own way.
With its ethereal melodies and open-ended narrative, Saam Saam transcends genres and encourages each listener to find their own story within the sound.
